Your body does this because it begins recognize that it needs nutrient dense foods to operate efficiently. Imagine like your body is a car, when it is new, it comes with a factory warranty against defect. After the warranty period, if you do not provide proper maintenance it will quickly begin to fall apart and you will have an expensive tab at the auto mechanic.

This same analogy apply to your body, with a couple differences, the most major one being cost. When you are younger, you can get away with eating whatever and not exercising. As your body ages, its needs change. If it is not properly taken care of, the bill you will expect at the doctor’s office is more expensive than car repairs.


Exercise During Intermittent Fasting Increases Fat Burn

It is no secret that the main energy source during exercise are carbohydrates. Muscles quickly burn through glycogen stores in the body to produce movement. What happens while you are fasting is that your body has already used up this glycogen storage, which makes the body look for alternative methods of getting energy.

Without any sugar to burn to produce energy, the body begins to use fat stored in the body as energy. Fat in the body is stored a couple ways, within subcutaneous, intramuscularly. Subcutaneous fat is directly under the skin, and visceral/intermuscular fat lays within muscle tissue and organs. Studies show that your body begins to burn both types when you exercise during an intermittent fast.

Intermittent Fasting was a common practice to your ancestors. When it comes to fitness and aesthetic goals, there are no magik overnight procedures or pills that produces long term results. It takes a daily effort with steps toward the right direction in order to achieve real results.

Intermittent Fasting is a practice that dates over the last 10 millennia. Fasts are for both spiritual, and health reasons. In light of the research, benefits include an increase of many bodily functions at the cellular level. Essentially, the body becomes more efficient, cellular respiration takes less energy. In short, this benefits all of the bodies systems as do not have to work as hard to maintain homeostasis.

Other than quickly burning away belly fat, health benefits include beneficial hormone production. In short, this means better sleep, more efficient metabolism, stronger bones, the list goes on. Fasting reduces inflammation throughout the body and joints. All in all, this is great for people with osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and rheumatoid arthritis. As noted in the research, there are improvements  in cardiovascular, and cardiopulmonary efficiency.

Intermittent fasting also stimulates the relaxation response which acts as a positive domino effect on all the other changes that happen in the body. This Also promotes positive genomic expression through RNA and DNA.

    I can definitely notice a difference in my body when I fast before exercise. I feel much lighter and more nimble. It is challenging the first couple go arounds, but I was able to mentally prep myself before working out
