You are What You Think, as Much as What You Eat. Meditation to Achieve Goals
Working out is easy, eating right after an intense workout is the challenging part. Building mental willpower and developing mindfulness is the secret to success. Often times life may give adverse situations that causes one to falter. In short, this will highlight the best tool, Meditation to achieve goals.
Achieving any goal is 90% mental and 10% physical. Studies show that the biggest inhibiting factor between continuing on a program developing mindfulness through meditation allows for better self control.
Overall, being able to stay in control of the mood and staying positive through taxing circumstances allows for better decision making. All in all, making the choice after an emotional occurrence is more challenging than exercise.
Asleep at the Wheel, Have A Cup of Coffee. Meditation to Achieve Goals
Training the biggest muscle of all, the mind is more important than exercise. Developing self awareness, self regulation, and self transcendence through mental training has many benefits.
Becoming aware of the emotions that cause reaction to triggering events is the first step. Through mental training the neuropsychological response to events can be controlled and redirected. All in all, instead of choosing an activity that is self destructive, healthier choices will be made.
A good example of this would be to choose exercise over binge eating during an occurrence. Developing mindfulness through mind training allows for a self dialogue to become open with the control centers of the mind. In essence the conscious mind begins to hear the action thoughts of the subconscious allowing for self governance.
Piecing the Puzzle Together with Meditation
To say the least, the subconscious mind is a jungle. The average human adult thinks anywhere from 50 – 80,000 thoughts per day. These thoughts can stem all the way from childhood, and include any habits picked up along the way. Introducing new thoughts into this tape that become permanent is no easy task.
Generally speaking, attempting to change or create new habits is like grabbing a raging bull by the horns. In this situation, Ancient mind body practices are tools that can be compared to a cowboy with a lasso. The cowboy is able to subdue the bull and put him into his stable where it can calm down.
In any event, becoming present and aware of thought allows for better self governance. Achieving what may seem to be difficult becomes easier by the day.
Other than Meditation, Mind Body Practices Also Offer Physical Training
Practices such as Yoga, TaiChi, QiGong, and other martial arts are efficient. Not only are they cost effective, but one 25 – 45 minute session trains all five elements of fitness.
The five elements of fitness being cardio, flexibility, muscular endurance, body composition and strength. Training all five elements of fitness together has been shown to have tremendous benefits on the bodies regulatory systems. Improvements such as enhancing 02 uptake, to promoting the physiological relaxation response. (there is a list below with more of the long term benefits)
Other than the tremendous health benefits, the cost effectiveness of mind body practices make them easy for many to incorporate into daily living. Everyone does not have the benefit of investing in costly equipment, or the luxury to going to a gym with the latest equipment.
